Loop Health: urgent care, brought to the home
Loop Health is an OddLabs concept prototype for a proposed urgent, non-emergency “ER to the home” service. It shows how a complex care idea can be shaped into a service model, operating workflows, and an app concept that stakeholders can review before a pilot is launched.
01 / Design the service
A community paramedic model with EMRs, paramedics, nurses, and diagnostic support aligned around defined roles, scope, and handoffs.
02 / Prototype the workflow
A practitioner-to-patient coordination concept, informed by on-demand dispatch models, with assessment, treatment, and tests delivered within each practitioner’s scope.
03 / Frame a pilot
A proposed Nanaimo pilot structure with medical direction, staffing, equipment, measures, and a funding case ready for discussion.
Concept only—not a live clinical service. The proposal is for urgent, non-emergency care, with no emergency response or patient transport; emergencies would follow 911/BCEHS pathways. Island Health funding and Odyssey Medical medical direction are proposed, subject to agreement. Any pilot would require appropriate clinical governance, approvals, and partner agreements.
